I've been playing Animal Jam since November of 2010, nearly the start of Animal Jam! Back then we didn't have the trade system, and dare I say it, Animal Jam really wasn't as fun as it is nowdays. We still had tons of minigames, and lots of items you could buy, and it was all nonmember! When Animal Jam finished it's beta stage, the membership was introduced! Sadly, many items became member's only, but many of it's players, including myself, got a free one month membership for helping Animal Jam complete it's beta stage! Here is some of what you would have seen back when AJ was beta, waaaay back in 2010....

DeleteOh, I joined in August 2010 and it was AWESOME until my favorite items that I had (My gray wings and green top hat) mysteriously disappeared. Green and gray were my favorite colors at the time and I just LOVED those, and they went well together, too. But I was still happy with the three-floored dens and the awesome Planet Walls and Moon Dirt, but unfortunately I deleted those because it turned out after a while I had no more interest in space (XP) But there were no sit buttons, NO SCAMMING :DDD, and just about everyone was friendly. I also loved the old Crystal Sands. It was more like a real beach, no water slides, no decks, just sand, water, and the juice hut. (Sorry this is so long, I just loved it so much..... Wait, there's more!!!) And there was this GIANT MUSHROOM in Sarepia Forest, and I never bought a Cami's Frog because they looked creepy...... But I bought a gumball machine and stuff and it was just wonderful. I got some black and gray Gazelles too because they were gray ya know..... There was also a gray top hat but I switched to black because they deleted THAT too!! I have more, but my fingers are tired..... LOL! I will talk more later!

Oh, I miss those days.... Lol, I also remember the giant mushroom and theh beta dens. I really miss all those old wallpapers and floors, too. I also remember how everyone had to trust each other with the non-trading thing we had going back then, but there weren't nearly as many people as there are now, and the trade system wasn't really needed... Thx for the comment, btw! I do love to remember about old times... Lol XP

Wow i never knew that they have Jammer Guiders which is cool, i like the old crystal sands than today's version. There are Jammer Spotlights and jamaa journal updates weekly in their old blog, too bad I started at December 2012. I like the old wall papers and floors stuff better than today's wall papers, also i think the old den was a wooden mansion which is so cool. I wish that Aj can make beta servers, except there are only some items that you can transfer on your account.

I was on back then to but not that far back but I wasn't a member back then so I didn't get any of the member gifts accept for the spirit armor set although I joined back in July 2011 when they were giving out the spiked collars and wristbands but then I stopped playing for a little more than a year.

Wow that's cool. If u look at the shop pictures, you will see that AJ has re-released a lot of items, like the wooden computer, fishbowl, and dresser thingy. Also... They monkey statue = really is a beta!!!! AJ is messing up all the forgotten beta days items........!!!!!!!! AJHQ has always been idiots, and this is no expection.

I stopped playing after a while though, because it was not as fun as it is now. When I joined again in 2013, lots of my items were gone. ReplyDeleteno, i seen that person before and they are just using a action replay or a AR cheat. still, they use the action replays codes and they make some item (like a necklace or some other useless items) to make it look like skullies and then when you trade for it it will say you got a necklace or a dumb item and BAM! you r scammed. please don't trade for stuff like that.

ReplyDeleteNone that I know of, and if there are, they're scams. So if you do come across a 'beta days' website or something, don't try to login with you AJ name and password, you could have all your items taken, so be careful!
DeleteEven though you can't experience the full thrill of the beta time period, you can "relive" it now with the newest Beta Party. Not only can you see how nice dens were back then, you can also buy betas.

ReplyDeleteI joined in December 2014. Animal Jam's changed a lot since then, but not as much as back in the Beta Days! I was not there to experience the Beta Days myself, but I'm inspired to learn as much about Jamaa's history as I can. I wish I had heard of Animal Jam back then, though. It's shocking to think that the Pillow Room used to be the Medical Center.
